Virgin Atlantic Airways is a British airline headquartered in London. The airline has its main bases located at London Heathrow Airport and at London Gatwick Airport and it operates long-haul flights from the United Kingdom to various destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

The airline was founded in 1982 as British Atlantic Airways and it has been operating as Virgin Atlantic since 1984. It offers three-class system - Economy, Premium Economy and Upper class. Regular passengers can join the airline's special Flying Club and get Virgin Atlantic White Card or Virgin Atlantic Black Card which both offers special discounts and benefits for future flights. The fleet of Virgin Atlantic consisted of 29 aircraft in 2008.
