SkyEurope was a low cost airline based in Bratislava, Slovakia with other hubs located at Prague and Vienna airports. The airline went bankrupt in August 2009.
The airline was founded in 2001 and it started with flights on only one domestic route. Before its bankruptcy SkyEurope operated scheduled flights from Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia to various European cities and it was the biggest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe.
SkyEurope specialized in short-haul and charter flights. In 2008 its fleet included 15 aircrafts and the airline transported more than 3.5 million passengers in 2007.
