Qatar Airways operates flights from Qatar to various destinations in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and Australia. It is the flag carrier of Qatar and its main hub is located at Doha International Airport. Qatar Airways was established in November 1993 and started operations in January 1994.

The airline has a three-class system: Economy, Business and First Class and its own frequent flyer program: Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Qatar Airways is a codeshare partner with some of the world's premier airlines such as Lufthansa, bmi or ANA. It belongs to more successful airlines - its average of growth year-on-year has been 35% for the past 10 years.

In December 2008 Qatar Airways got the award for World´s Leading Business Class at the World Travel Awards grand final ceremony.Qatar Airways is one of only six airlines awarded 5-star rating by Skytrax.

Qatar Airways offer online check-in on its website. Its fleet consisted of 102 planes in 2011.
