Firefly is based in Malaysia and operates flights from its main hubs located in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. It is a low-cost airline with headquarters in Penang, which was founded in 2007. Firefly is a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines.

Firefly provides both domestic and international flights to Indonesia and Thailand, Singapore and across Malaysia. The passengers of Firefly can purchase on-board refreshments separately.

Its fleet consisted of 20 aircraft in 2011.
