Air Berlin is based in Germany and operates flights from its main hubs located in at Berlin-Tegel Airport and Düsseldorf International Airport. Other important cities on its route network are Nuremberg, Cologne, Hamburg or Palma de Mallorca.
Air Berlin was established in 1978 and it has now become the second largest airline in Germany. It provides both domestic and international flights to various destinations in Europe, Asia, Caribbean and North America.
Unlike other low cost airlines, Air Berlin does serve complimentary refreshment. Moreover, the airline offers special services to its business clients and passengers who can also earn free miles with topbonus - its frequent flyer program.
Air Berlin also won numerous awards including world's best low cost airline in 2006 or TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards in 2011.
Its fleet consisted of 151 aircraft in 2011.
